A team of University of North Texas hospitality management students has made it to the final round of a major international hotel competition for students – HX: The Hotel Experience 2017.
Four undergraduate students – Katie Bland, Sumin Woo, Daniel Zavala and Lidia Guzman – will compete in the event’s STR Student Market Study Competition on Nov. 12 in New York, where they will give a 30 minute presentation detailing their market study of hotel performance and strategy.
“This has placed our students among the top hospitality programs in the world,” said Jihye Min, an assistant professor of hospitality finance and the faculty advisor for the team.
The top three teams will be awarded for the undergraduate competition, with the first place winner receiving a $1,000 cash award. More than three dozen teams entered the undergraduate competition.
